Middy was the pioneer in rod design for modern commercial fishermen.
The original 3G rods, launched over a decade ago, were the first of their kind to be made in a two-strand collapsible construction with a smoother action to make carp landing easier.
In the intervening years, carbon technology advanced tremendously, as we saw with Middy's 4G and 4GS updates, all of which won numerous awards for their engineering quality.
Now, with the help of some top anglers and technicians, Middy has taken these rods a step further to launch the new 5G range, which are built with new carbon, to provide flexible action while remaining stiff for precise throws.
Ideally, a commercial waggler rod or a perfect feeder rod should be stiff enough for an accurate cast, strong enough to handle carp over 5kg, but flexible enough to prevent breakage.
All of these features are built into the 5G lineup, along with many other unique design features.
An A-Nomic grip is built into every 5G rod, with the reel seat area specially curved to perfectly match the shape your hand naturally takes when you grip a rod.
These rods also feature an S.F.A ring, with K-style design guides to prevent line twisting.
A particularly nice touch is the special woven carbon area just above the reel seat, to stiffen the rod when depleting larger carp.
The light model is designed for short distance carp fishing with light pellet waggler and the medium model is designed for longer distance fishing or when you are fishing in crowded areas where you need more power to clamp the fish
