The Hi-‘S’ Power Feeder XSD rods, in 12ft (360) and 13ft (390) versions, have caused a sensation in the UK and on the continent. Free Spirit has tested these rods for feeder fishing in extreme conditions with excellent results.
Like all Hi-‘S’ Power Feeders, they feature hollow carbon tips that blend perfectly with the top of the blank, resulting in a very smooth and powerful transition from the bottom to the tip of the rod and a much crisper response, virtually eradicating distance-shortening tip bounce.
This rod allows you to cast even further than the famous power feeder distance rods. A large butt section makes it easy to cast long distances.
The Japanese carbon is an ultra-light, low-resin carbon with a 1k weave on the top and a Free Spirit Perdurable finish, which means the same performance can be maintained for many years.
The rods are fitted with cork handles and an EVA front handle with Fuji reel seat.
The tip on the 12ft and 13ft rods is a 5oz but other tips are available in 3oz and 4oz.
The rods are fitted with a double-leg Butt ring and a first intermediate anti-frap ring.
The other rings are single-leg to reduce weight and the sizes are increased to allow the use of leader.
In tests, these rods were capable of casting to over 130m and in some European tests for bream fishing with fine braid, they were capable of casting to 140-160m.
They have also been used successfully in the UK's large calm waters (Boddington in particular), with hybrids, bombs and solid bags to target carp.

Testé ce week-end sur plusieurs carpes entre 5 et 15 kg . Elle m’a permis de sortir les carpes devant des obstacles alors que la hi s power distance en 120g n y arrivait pas . J ai juste mis un scion de 3,5 oz en remplacement de celui d’origine de 5 oz pour une meilleure détection des touches.Pour moi c est la canne spécimen par excellence !!!!
