The new Ultegra Ci4+ 5500 is the little brother of the 14000, launched at the end of 2017. Compared to the old version, it improves on many points. This reel is the top of the line in Shimano's 5500 size large reel category.
The differences with the Ultegra XTD 5500 are significant: this reel is better protected against water and dust infiltration. It is also lighter, equipped with a faster brake and benefits from reinforced gears (Hagane), better ball bearings and new parts (rotor, spool, line guard).
