Description
A very pleasant aniseed scent, a blend of star anise and fennel, makes it very attractive to roach. It is a fairly dark mixture that you can darken even further by adding vine black, for example.
Its stickiness is fairly low, so it is recommended for use in waters less than 2.5 metres deep with no current. You can make it sink faster with a little somme earth (wet clay) or by moistening it with molasses. On the other hand, you can make it work faster by adding ground hempseed. Be careful, however, as the dispersing power of hempseed will limit your fishing to depths of less than 2 metres.
The special roach bait is a fairly rich composition. This allows you to keep the fish on the spot while achieving a good average weight. You can nevertheless enrich it further by adding 15 to 25% B.M.L., for example.
It is also formidable on large tench by adding 20% gingerbread.
The different compositions can be mixed together. However, we recommend using them pure to get the most out of the work that has gone into these recipes.
