PACK ACOLYTE PRO CARP 13M DRENNAN

Specially designed for carp fishing, this state-of-the-art rod was developed in collaboration with five-time world champion Alan Scotthorne. In fact, Alan lent his first prototype to his son Oliver and couldn't get it back. So we made him another one!

Built on the same high-end mandrel as the Acolyte Pro, but using different carbons and resins for an even stronger rod with increased resistance.

While we would never claim that a rod is indestructible, the Acolyte Pro Carp is extremely strong and powerful and easily capable of withstanding repeated catches of combative carp.

At the same time, this new Acolyte Pro Carp is lighter than the original, (significantly) better balanced and more responsive.

Despite being stronger than the Acolyte Pro, the Acolyte Pro Carp is still stiff enough to react quickly to bites and reacts exceptionally well even with a cup at the tip and a short bank between the tip and the float.

It reacts much faster than the original Acolyte Carp.
The main sections from the butt to No5 are made on new mandrels, so they are different from the original, but more importantly, the No4 and No3 sections are the same size.

All male and female joints are reinforced to reduce wear and extend rod life.

All new Acolyte Pro Carp kits now use a new No1 and No2 configuration with a 4.7mm wider internal diameter tip.

This means that each kit is ready to fish with no reduction at all and with elastic, including our very own Red Bungee.

It comes with a variety of additional "Easy-Fit" pure PTFE Bungee tulips which all fit into the same 4.7mm uncut top section.

However, each has its own internal hole size perfectly matched to the appropriate Bungee size, each identified by a small coloured band corresponding to the Bungee.

The internal diameters of the tulips are:
Aqua 2mm, green 2.3mm, yellow 2.6mm, pink 3.2mm, red 3.5mm.


Each PTFE tulip has a series of tiny "crushed ribs" at the end, which means they will simply snap together very securely without the need for glue. As a result, you can keep all your Top kits the same length, whatever the diameter of the elastic used.

As well as a selection of Skid Bungs, EVA cones, a priming cup, a set of colour-coded PTFE tulips in different sizes and a handy Visi Case, every Top kit comes with factory-fitted Side Pull Slots and Drennan Roller Cones!
The white Side Pull Slots are made from ultra-smooth PTFE material. Their elongated shape is designed to soften the pull angle and works more effectively than a simple round hole. When the optional Roller Cone system is fitted, this further enhances the performance of the PTFE slot.

The intelligent Roller Cone device has been designed and manufactured to the highest standards. The cone itself is moulded to fit perfectly against the Side Pull slot for perfect alignment and to hold its position well inside the rod section. Its wheel is machined to an ultra-smooth surface and is mounted on a miniature stainless steel spindle, which has again been machined in Drennan's engineering workshops. The end result is ultra-smooth, trouble-free build quality!

The rod is available in three lengths: 13m, 14.5m and 16m and with an exceptional spares package, including a total of six Carp Top 2s, an extra-rigid Cupping Top 2 and a pair of reversible mini extensions that fit from the No5 section to the butt of the 16m. Each Top kit is factory-fitted with our unique Side Pull system. Shipment of additional Top kits and spare parts can easily be arranged with your tackle dealer.

Double 2 Side Pull Kit

This is approximately the same 2.89m length as a standard two-piece Drennan Top kit (including A kits, Carp kits and E kits), but there's an extra joint in the middle of the No2 section.

The clever addition of this extra joint allows you to elasticate one and a half sections of rod rather than just the No1 (tip) or combined No1 and No2 sections. It's a great idea for anglers who don't want to put as much elastic in their rod. It also gives you a slightly shorter Top kit for more manoeuvrability - something particularly useful for shallow fishing, fast fishing or certain edge fishing applications.


Above all, unlike many other rods on the market that offer a 'short kit' option, the great advantage of the Drennan 'Double 2' system is the fact that you lose no usable rod length when this type of kit is fitted. This means that you can use a classic Drennan Top 2 kit and a Double 2 kit for the same area without having to add or subtract sections or use cupping kits of different lengths. What's more, when storing, you can leave the two parts of the No2 section together, fold the kit in half and it will conveniently be the same size as normal Carp kits, making everything really simple.

The top half of the removable No2 section is reinforced and fitted with Drennan's latest Side Pull PTFE system. This means you can get all the benefits of Drennan's super-smooth Side Puller system in a shorter configuration.

As with the standard Drennan Side Pull kits, the Double 2 Side Pull Kit is fitted with an optional Roller cone. Again, these have been precision machined to the highest specification and, once installed, ensure the elastic glides perfectly for even greater performance.

Side Pull beads
Designed in conjunction with the new Drennan Side Pull system, a Side Pull bead allows you to locate and grip the elastic where it leaves the Side Pull slot with minimum difficulty. The outside of the bead is ribbed for better grip while the inner tube safely houses the elastic knot to create a very neat configuration.
Alternatively, the bead can also be used to adjust the tension of the elastic. By simply pulling the elastic through the bead and allowing it to grip the elastic in the desired position, you can tighten the elastic or solve any elastic 'sag' problem in seconds.

Made from hard thermoplastic rubber, they are also colour coded to match our Carp Bungee. The internal diameter of the bead also increases in size to suit every size of elastic.

A set of four colour-coded Side Pull beads is supplied with each Side Pull kit.
